Official Artist of the International Boxing Hall of Fame
Richard T. Slone was named the Official Artist of the Boxing Hall of Fame in 1997 and has remained so ever since.
Slone is responsible for creating artwork of the boxing legends inducted in the Hall. His work graces the cover of the annual program book and various other products. Slone has also exhibited numerous times on the grounds of the Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota, New York. There are many artist's who try to immulate Slone's style and try to sell at the grounds in Canastota, but fans know the difference, there is only one Official Artist of the International Boxing Hall of Fame and it is Richard T. Slone.
Being the Official artist of the Boxing Hall of Fame verifies Slone’s importance amongst the sporting world. “As a former boxer and lifelong fight fan, it’s an honor to be involved with the Boxing Hall of Fame. When I was asked to do my first painting for them in the mid 90’s, I never imagined I’d be commissioned to do it every year afterwards. Painting the Hall of Fame art is something I look forward to every summer.” say’s Slone.
