The painting which is a spectacular work of art, proving again that Slone is amongst the world’s finest artists.

Last week Slone painted the Acelino Freitas vs Juan Diaz championship fight and unveiled a limited edition of 100 autographed prints, all of which sold out before the event. Slone is also working on the International Boxing Hall of Fame cover art which, ironically, will feature Slone’s rendition of fellow artist LeRoy Neiman. Slone is also finishing up a collection of the Big Five Game paintings for an exclusive game lodge in South Africa.

The De la Hoya vs. Mayweather painting is simply titled ‘Superfight’. It’s a spectacular acrylic and enamel of canvas that measures 30 by 40 inches. The original painting will be officially unveiled Wednesday evening at the Mandalay Bay’s Memorabilia Museum located at 3950 S. Las Vegas Boulevard. No prints of the original art will be made available to the public, just the original painting which will bring interest from all corners of the world.

“How could I not paint this fight?” questioned Slone “It’s truly a superfight and it’s an event that shows why boxing is truly a great sport”. Floyd and Oscar own originals of Slone’s art from nine years ago, when Mayweather commissioned Slone to paint pitbulls biting out through his gloves. Oscar owns a portrait that Slone presented to him in Big Bear, California.

Richard T. Slone has been hailed by the media as the next great artist. His work is widely collected by art collectors and high-society.
