Steve Fleisher’s “Kids at Crossroads” is a grassroots program helping young people who are at risk of becoming statistics on the battlefields of violence, gangs, drugs and ignorance. Now you have the chance to get involved by collecting beautiful art. Steve routinely dips into his own pockets to help subsidize these kids with much needed clothes, food, grooming items, boxing gym dues, seminars and counseling. Steve has never turned down anyone who needed help, with or without a budget, however the program is growing and more and more kids are at the crossroads of life and simply need help. Richard T. Slone was an actual beneficiary of “Kids at Crossroads”. Seventeen years ago, Richard was a classic youth at risk - sixteen years old and living on top of Smokin’ Joe Frazier’s gym in North Philly. Richard, although focused on his boxing, found additional support and counseling when he was introduced to Steve Fleisher through Frazier. “Steve’s guidance is invaluable and without it I don’t know where I’d be today” said Slone. Richard was one of scores of kids helped by Steve and “Kids at Crossroads”. Steve and his family always encouraged Richard’s artwork, even enrolling him into airbrush classes. Steve took him under his wing to mentor him, found him a job, helped him in any areas needed. As the years went by, an unbreakable bond was built between the two, who now consider each other ‘family’. “Steve Fleisher showed unconditional support” said Richard from his studio, “His gift is working with children. He builds trust and gives solid advice. He has a special ability to touch people and he really does care. When I had the chance to give back to Steve and his program, I jumped on it. I hope to get more involved and help these kids that aren’t so fortunate.” Richard’s art has become a much sought-after
item of high society with notable collectors such as Donald Trump, Hugh
Hefner, Muhammad Ali, Nelson Mandela and many more. His work graces many
magazine covers and is also used by many companies and ad agencies throughout
the world. He is also the Official Artist of the International Boxing
Hall of Fame and the Official artist of the UFC. Richard also does portrait
commissions and has painted portraits of Donald Trump, Hugh Hefner, Nelson
Mandela, Lennox Lewis and is now completing one for rap star Eminem. He
has been hailed as the “next great artist” and the “artist
to watch” by many newspapers and gallery owners worldwide. ###
